Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of an 8-week educational game program on agility and vertical jump performance in children aged 8–10 who do not actively participate in sports. A total of 80 volunteer participants were randomly assigned to experimental (n=40) and control (n=40) groups. The experimental group participated in an educational game program tailored to their developmental and physical characteristics, conducted three days per week over eight weeks. Pre-test and post-test measurements included body weight, agility (T-test), and vertical jump performance, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0. While pre-test results revealed no statistically significant differences between the groups (p>.05), post-test findings indicated a significant decrease in body weight and significant improvements in agility and vertical jump performance in the experimental group (p<.05). In contrast, the control group exhibited negative trends in the same parameters. These results demonstrate that training programs incorporating educational games can be effective in enhancing children's physical fitness, particularly in terms of agility and explosive power. Moreover, educational games contribute to children's social, emotional, and cognitive development, offering a holistic approach to physical education. Therefore, such programs are recommended as effective tools for supporting multidimensional development in children.
