Abstract

Abstract

The current study aims to examine the innovation skills of the students of the Faculty of Sport Sciences. In the research, the effects of innovation skills according to different variables are evaluated. The sample of the study consists of Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Sport Sciences students. Innovation skill levels were determined by applying the "Innovation Skills Scale for Young People" to the participants. The findings revealed that there was an increase in innovation skills according to gender, class, age, active sports status and innovation knowledge level. While the innovation skills of the participants differed according to the variables of class, gender, age, active sports practice and innovation knowledge, there was no significant difference according to the department variable. The fact that significant differences were found in all sub-dimensions and total score level, especially in the age variable, reveals that innovation skills increase with increasing age. Similar studies in the literature support the results obtained. The findings of the study show that strategies should be developed to increase the innovation skills of sport sciences faculty students. In this respect, it is recommended that academicians integrate innovation skills into their education and training processes. As a result, this study contributes to the development of students' innovative skills in education and training processes by shedding light on innovation research.
